Thumbs up Brent Franker's Head Light Gears Rocks!!

Guys,
I just wanted to let you know that I just finished installing Brent's Brass Metal Gears for my 95 Trans am. Both of my head lights were grinding when I turn them off and the lights flip down, also whenever I put my fog lights on, the Head lights would automatically pop up. I ordered Brent's Brass Metal Gears to fix my problem. Let me First say the gears are a Very Nice QUALITY Piece. Brent also sent me epoxy so I could glue the casing for the headlight motor back on when I was finished. Well the whole job took me under 1 1/2 hours to do with me BSing a bit and coming inside for coffee and what not. MAN!! do these thing work great. It solved all of my Headlight problems, now they work flawlessly. I had Zero Problems installing these gears (thanks to the great maching of these gears and also the Fantastic and very Detailed write up on Brent's Web Page). Brent also has a write up on how to fix these problems by just rotating your stock platics gears 180 degrees but I think, for the price, you should not even waste your time, you should just buy the Brass gears from him cuz it will save you in the long run since the plastic gears are bound to wear out any ways. Again, I am very impressed with the quality of this product and my transaction with Brent went very smoothly. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone that has problems with thier Headlight motors.

You can read more about these gears, the install and where to get a set or just one from this link:

Exactly, I actually wanted to show the Gears to a friend of mine but I could not wait to install them So unfortunetly for him, he did not get to see them. Nice Job man, any one that holds these things in hands can tell How nice of a Job was done in the machine work. Even my wife was impressed

Gears? When mine went, there was only crazy far off talk about how cool it would be to have a real gear to replace it. Instead, I just had to spin the gear 180*, been fine ever since.

Yeah but the next time they go bad you will be needing and wanting the brass ones that Brent had machine cuz you wont be able to spin them 180 again

I ordered the gears a while back and I was hoping that I wouldn't have to install them but last night the right headlamp wouldn't raise and I had to raise it manually. It made a loud buzzing racket for about 5 seconds after the motor lowered it and I knew that the dreaded headlight gear problem had finally hit me. I did the 180 degree gear mod at first light this morning but I'm going to have to reserve some time to actually do the gear install. Or perhaps I should just wait until the other side of the gear goes out. Like the previous posts state, the gears are real purty. Kind of a shame to have to hide them away in the motor. At least I know I have the fix ready if another gear goes out. I know, I know, it's only a matter of time.

P.S. BTW Brent, great instructions for doing the 180 degree quick fix.
