which brand of brake pads?

last brake pads i replaced with bindex brand from discount auto and they are CRAP...

so now i've gotten new slotted rotors to replace the old ones torn up by the cheap bindex pads, and i want some good quality brake pads to also put on the fronts. what are some good quality brake pads?

Hawk HPS are nice for street driving...if you want something a little more aggressive try the HP+. I autocross with HPS's all the way around. You might look into the LS1 brake upgrade at the same time the parts sell for around $250 off a wrecked car.

autozone has a good performance pad, front cost me 45 and the rears 52, lifetime warranty

They're kinda costly, but EBC Greenstuff are worth it. I paid $175 bot the front and rear sets, and my 93 stops like an LS1 car does now with those and some slotted rotors.

What about the ceramic brake pads? Performance Friction and NAPA Ceramix? How about dusting - no one wants a pad that stops well at the cost of daily wheel washings

IMO unless u X-cross or somthing like that I would get the factory pads. I got 63k out of mine, they stop on a dime, and long as u wash your car like I do brake dust isnt an issue, with chrome wheels anyways. I'm sure jason cromer can get u some for bout 50-70 bucks, not sure on that though. They are some thick a$$ pads!!

My EBC's dont make a peep. They are silent and made of kevlar and they stop very very well. THey say they "virtually eliminate" brake dust. Well they do reduce dust for sure. However I wouldnt say the "virtually eliminate" it but they are impressive. I recommend them. Oh BTW if u have 5 stars or another open style rim where the brake calipers show, You will see the pads and they are in fact GREEN. Hence the name. So just be aware that you will have green showing..Personaly I think it gives the car attitude lol.
