brakes!!

im having some werid braking problems.

when im stopping from around 50mph + my steering wheel will shake like crazy then when i get slowed down everything smooths out.
if i break from below 40 or so its smooth...any faster and it shsshshhakes my hands off the wheel till it gets slowed down. almost like when the rotors get hot its bad....could it be a warped rotor?!?! wouldn't that shake all the time??

all i know is its getting worse and if feels like my rotors are going to blow off my hubs up front

You just need new rotors. Very easy to change. Buy the cheap rotors from Advanced Auto Parts for $60-70. They come with a year warrantee, so when they warp again in a few months you can just get new ones.

They will not fit. You can upgrade to LS1 brakes, but that will cost you at least a couple hundred dollars and you'll probably have to buy new rotors for those anyway.

I got my complete LS1 brake upgrade (spindles, lines, rotors, calipers) for 175 shipped... It was from a salvage yard. I suggest doing that as my butt crack can apply more force than stock LT1 calipers.

take your front tires off and check your brakes/ rotors, most likely your rotors need to be turned, if they are still good, it should only cost you about $8 dollars(checker autoparts) per rotor to turn. slap them back on, problem fix.

I wouldn’t recommend turning them. They will only warp faster. Around here, it cost more than $8 to turn a rotor. If you can find a place that will do it for that price and your rotors are not below minimum thickness (the place you take them to will be able to tell the if they are within spec), It wouldn’t be a bad deal for $8.

i already turned my front and rears once (about a year ago) and i havent had a problem with the rotors.....
check the inside of the rotor for the min tolerance, check them with some calipers if they still have some meat.. turn them..

by the way if they dont have enough meat, NO body will turn your rotors
