Brake pad installation - do it yourself?

I'm planning on buying new brakepads in the near future, and I was wondering if it's easy to do by yourself or if it's easier to pay someone to do it for you. I would figure a local shop probably could do it for whatever their hourly rate is..where I got my exhaust installed it was about 65$/hr I believe. How difficult is it to install pads on your own? Not that it matters but I plan on buying EBC Greenstuff Pads. Anybody use these pads and if you did, did you have any problems with them?

Brakes are very easy to do if you can have somebody you know that has done brakes before give you a hand to show you how to do it. Heres a very good Info website.

Yeah, but it is generally so easy, that I don't have any info about replacing pads on my site. Maybe next time I have mine apart, I will take some pics for a web page.

A cheap manual like a Haynes would be good for the occasional mechanic. Disc brakes are pretty generic as far as replacing pads. For the fronts you will need a 3/8" allen for removal. Best to get on that comes in a socket, so you can put some muscle behinds it, if needed.

Can't find anything about brakes on there. Maybe I'm just tired.

Don't forget to torque the wheels back on or you won't be rumbling anywhere.

You shouldn't have to bleed the lines unless you open the system. It's not a bad idea to pop the cap on the master cylinder before you start compressing the calipers though.
