I snapped my ebrake cable one day and I replaced it and soon after that my red BRAKE light came on the dash and wont go away.. When I pull the brake up it gets brighter and when I put it down it goes dim but still on none the less... what could cause this?

Hay Whats up??? The switch in the e brake maybe sticking... Hay is your car running good? Do you have that cap for the p/s???

 

If the cable snapped, you likely overextended the switch, and its sticking open.

 

A fix for this is?

 

Mine is picky, I have to jiggle it for it to work. Take out the center console and check it out, there is a red switch at the bottom of the E-brake with one wire going into it and you can see where the E-brake hits it and grounds out the light. You should get your answer easy by opening the center console and checking it out Good luck
