I'm in the middle of putting my heads back on and was wondering; what's the purpose of the bracket that's on the back of the drivers side head? Is it just a support for the coolant crossover tube? I need to know this because I broke my old one ( don't ask ) So can I leave this off or do I need a new one? Thanks

 

I'm having a hard time trying to picture a bracket on the back of the left head. Got a pic? What was there before you pulled the heads?

 

Sorry no Pic. haven't got the film devoloped yet. It may have been on the passenger side but it was only secured by one bolt. It was small and I didn't pay much attention to it but I guess I should have.

 

oh yea, and it was there when I took the stock heads off.

 

hey, i have the same bracket on my old stock heads --- its still on it too, its on the REAR of the head (closer to the windsheild) and it hooks upward with a hole in it , i have no clue what its for either... passanger side of car - i THINK it was.. cant remember i took them off a while ago, id have to go in the garage to double cehck which side it was on, could have been drivers, dunno..

 

OK yea, thats the one I can't exactly remember which side either.
