Boxed vs Tubular LCAs

I need to know what the difference is between boxed and tubular chrome moly LCAs. I want to know which is better for the track. My car is not driven very much on the street, but I do drive it every now and then. I'm gonna go with BMR so which type should I get ? Thanks for your help!!

Spohn tubular LCA's. 9.04 @ 155mph, in a 3,900# convertible. I think they're strong enough for the rest of us too

I would suspect the boxed design is heavier. I know an old set of Just Suspension box-section LCA's that I used to run has to weigh at least twice as much as my replacement Spohn tubulars.

My LCA's weigh 2 lbs each. Anything more than that is a waste.

You can go with either. They both will do the job. I posted this question a couple months back and did some research. You don't need to waste the extra cash. The plain tubed ones will be more than enough.

You say you noticed a big difference, was that between stock and boxed, or tubular and boxed?

I went tubular so that the 315s would clear. They are
a little narrower than the boxed.

I am planning on going boxed with weld in brackets...do you see a problem with me fitting 315s on my car ?...I also want to run ZR1 17 X 11s...are there some modifications I can make like hammering the wheel weal or something, or does that have anything to do with the issue ?

I would measure the boxed you are planning to go with
and see how they compare to the tubulars. Try to go with
the narrowest you can get by with.

Ive got the Boxed ones, I haven't gone to the track at all with my car, I did all suspension and engine upgrades at the same time. However, I have 315's and the boxed BMR's fit fine. Having some massive overly rich fuel problems though. Car seems slightly faster.

Do you have 9.5" or 11" wheels with the 315s ?
