bought Showen04's formula

I bought a 1993 Formula today. On the drive home, the service engine light comes on intermittenly. Service records show that the car has had teh O2 sensors replaced twice before. Could this be the problem? Its not a major concern, but the car does miss a little under load in 3rd and 4th gear.

The heat doesn't work. The previous owner had the heater flushed, and now he told me it probably needs a new heater core, but I am not sure. It also has an aftermarket stereo head unit in it and I am wondering if somehow the installer screwed up the controls for the temperature setting. Because when I turn the heat on, cold air comes out, and i mean cold air, the same temperature as outside pretty much, no heat whatsoever. I would think that maybe a little heat would come out even if the core was bad or plugged. Any help would be great on these

Retrieve the codes yourself 1993 only.

Probably needs a heater core flush.

I have the same problem with my 95 Z, the Service engine light will... come on at random.. and just go off when it decides to.. if I turn the car off then back on, it goes away, not sure what it is >.< and from my understanding 95's have some weird connector that you have to have a special machine to read... just my luck O.o

95 cars have an OBD2 connector and an OBD1 computer. It's not a big deal. I've got the samething on my 97 (OBD1 conversion).

The previous owner had the core flushed and he said it got a little warmer, but it was blowing nothing but cold air, it has an aftermarket stereo in it, which makes me believe that someone, while putting the stereo in, may have disconnected the vaccum hose by accident, maybe not. I hope it isn't a heater core, but i don't think it is either. I have to go pick up a repair manual for it this week sometime, have a list of things I want to do, have to start with the most important first, the heat

Awesome car though, not 100% but i can fix it!

The stereo install might have messed up something, but be aware that the heat control is done by a cable and not vacuum.

someone told me it was a vacuum hose, but i don't know, will take it apart this week.

More importantly, I have a bigger problem. The car misses on load in 3rd gear(stick). It has hooker shorty headers. The car has been reported doing this before, and the mechanic took all the plugs out and one had a platinum missing, and another, the porcelin was cracked. , this was about 3 years ago. This car also has the service engine soon light come on and go off intermittenly, only when driving on the freeway at 70+ mph though...It has had the O2 sensors replaced twice to fix this. anyone have any clue as to why this misses? I will pull plugs later to see what I can find.

As for the service engine light, the car also had an exhaust leak at the connection betweem the headers and the heads, could this be a cause? I am not sure how sensitive '93 computers are
