Hi all, I bought a 6speed z28 about a month ago and am totally in love.The car already had computer calibrations, sts, flowmaster, and slp cai, 160 stat, etc...

I am worried though because I am leaking (though relatively little) tranny fluid and would like to put this to a stop. I jacked it up last week and made sure all bolts were tight from engine to tranny, turning some as much as a 1/8 inch.

I work on my own cars and have done some repairs simply by research and reading on the topic ahead of time. This being my first manual though I need some help. I know I dont have a dipstick for the tranny so I dont know how to check the level.

The car had a new clutch put in shortly before I purchased it, so the fluid should have been full.

i had a transmission leak that i had too fix, it was comin from the speedometer i think its called, underneath the car. i replaced that and it was only 70 bucks, i dont think this helps out your problem, but i just wanted too reply .. hehe, good luck

 

Try taking a picture for us, that will help us alot in trying to help you.

 

To check the fluid,there is a plug in the middle of the trans on the drivers side.Use ATF to fill...Kinda a pain to do.Use some tubing on a nipple and squeeze.

Basically you fill the transmission until it overflows out of the fill hole. Use Dexron III ATF if I remember right.
