Borla Vs. flowmaster

Honestly whats better borla or flowmaster? I heard that you actually lose power with borla at take off? It sure does sound nice!

Re: Borla Vs. flowmaster

I think it's been proven that Chokemaster make you lose HP/TQ, but the sound is Borla on the other hand, has awesome flow to make= better HP/TQ and the sound is awesome too. You are also paying alot more than the flowmaster. IMO, it's not worth to pay more than $400 for a catback.

Re: Borla Vs. flowmaster

My friend has borla on his '95 M6 car - i think it sounds like crap in person and in all the videos i've heard. Interestingly the only time i think i like the sound of the borla system is from INSIDE the car. I have the chokemaster american thunder system on my car...sounds wonderful. If i lose 3hp over the borla system well...whatever i don't care it much throatier. If you are worried about performance from your catback exhaust system then just install a cutout.

I've got fewer bolt-ons than you and run faster than you with my Borla. So....

Re: Borla Vs. flowmaster

I ran .5 quicker in the 1/4 mile after I unbolted my flowmaster cat-back. So I have to say that flowmaster is not the greatest flowing cat-back. I canned mine for a used Borla and never looked back.

did you have the single out or the dual out flowmaster catback? what mods did you have motor wise? because on my stock motor'd car my single out setup didnt hurt the 1/8 mph or et from running uncapped.

What were the track conditions like on those two seperate runs, was your engine temp the exact same on both? It's too easy to go to the track without changing ANYTHING on your car and get .2 or .3 different trap times just due to reaction time etc. Was your 60 foot the exact same both runs? I thinkt his hard to believe because people don't generally see .5 seconds gain on their times even with a cutout alone. Out of curiosity what time did you run after putting the borla on?

Again, this is why i say install a catback that sounds good for regular driving and a cutout for the strip. To install a catback system based on performance is somewhat ridiculous - we are talking about very small gains between systems.

Re: Borla Vs. flowmaster

reaction time doesnt effect ET. the ET timers dont start until youve moved.
