Re: Borla Vs. flowmaster

I'm at 296 rwhp and 323 rwtq through a Flowmaster, and no headers.

I think the biggest difference between the two is quality of materials used, hence the price gap.

Re: Borla Vs. flowmaster

I've had my Borla since 1995 and it still looks like new and sounds awesome with no plate (wide open) with LPE shorties and an LPE 383...

Re: Borla Vs. flowmaster

Flowmaster was a single in and two out
I made about three or four runs that night. Running very consisten even with a six speed, high 13.6 and low13.7 for the first two passes. Unbolted the flowmaster at the cat and ran a 13.2 the next pass. Very little cool down time between runs. This was on a stroker with shorties and the heads in the sig. With the borla I was running 13.2's roughly. Put LT's on it and was running 13.00 and the 12.98 below. 60's were around 2.2?? I run pretty consistent I think so I know it made a difference. This was last year so the numbers may not be exact except for the time difference. I know I dropped around .5 secs +/- a few hundreths

Re: Borla Vs. flowmaster

if you plan on headers in the future, go with something other than borla

sounds like **** with headers, no cat and wide open

I just gotta say that my buddy has Borla on his 25th TA and it sounds freakin awesome. As for myself I have the flowmaster and I think it sucks, the sound is weak and gains are minimal. But that'll get replaced with the Borla soon. Go with the Borla!

Re: Borla Vs. flowmaster

Well, I've got Flowmaster on mine. Sounds great for half the price of the Borla. Don't get me wrong, I like the sound of Borla too. It's more metalic sounding tho while FM is more throaty. I went 13.29 with Flows and various other bolt-ons, so I havn't had any power issues with it. Granted, that was back when the car was running good lmao.

In short, if ya got the scratch (and like both sounds), go for the borla. If not, go for the Flowmaster. Simple as that. Power wont matter all that much since you are gonna slap on a cut out with that set-up too now aren't ya hint hint.
