Borla with headers?

Who's running this and how does it sound? I wanted to get borla for sure but I've heard some complaints that the borla doesn't sound as good once headers get put on. Anybody?

I´m running Hooker LT´s with a mufflex Y pipe and Borla catback. I installed car chemistry 2 disc inserts in the collectors and a 3" x 18" Dynomax bullet in the straight part after the y pipe. I use the intermediate restrictor in the open side of the Borla. I think it sounds great. It is kind of a crisp sound for around town driving, but it really screams when you get on it. Almost no cabin resonance.

Had it, was too raspy and made a god aweful noise on decel when the rpms dropped real fast. Thus the reason most people dont like the sound with headers. Now on a stock manifold car it sounded great. Was still a little raspy at times but nothing like it as with the longtubes.

I did. Hated the Borla and sold it for the Hooker system. Best decision I made. Borla is not worth the money IMO.

on manifolds I'm beautiful during accel, and it sounds like a jake brake on decel....

until I close the electric cutout in the borla, then it is pretty, but a little toned down...

I'll tell you how it is soon with LT's and a GM847.

what he said, did the same here, longtubes, no cats, open Borla and it had the raspy LS1 sound, was ready to sell the Borla, when I rebuilt the engine and added the cam, huge difference in sound, and no way I'd get rid of the Borla now.

I have FLPs and Borla and think it sounds great. It is raspy but I have gotten used to it and since my car isn't a daily driver the loudness doesn't bother me at all. When I feel I need the attention I will go get my car and take it out.
Although I can see where it might be a little loud for a daily driver.

I have JeT Hot Long Tubes, a Off road Pipe, Borla and DMH E cutout for the Borla.

I love the way the car sounds. I keep it closed when driving around town and on the highway and it sounds great, crisp, no resonating, not blatty at all. but if I leave it open and drive around town it is a little blatty. But when I hit the switch and open it for a WOT run, it sounds down right MEAN!!

Hope that helps,
Claude

Every time I hear a Borla in person, it reminds me of why I never did a Borla setup.
