Borla exhaust...sound??

I am planning on getting a Borla for the wife's Z. I was wondering how they sound. I have a few friends with the LS1 and Borla's, and they sound absolutely savage, especially with no cat! So how about the LT1, does anyone have a sound clip, or a opinion?? Thanks.

I'm going to paint you a mental image of what the borla catback sounds like based on sounds that you already recognize...

First, imagine that you are sitting at a table with a box of bb's and coffee can. Next, pour a decent amount of bb's into the coffee can. Now, put the lid on the coffee can and shake it vigorously.

That is what a Borla catback sounds like. In short, you can either get borla and get ripped off for a ****ty sounding catback OR you can be smart and get another catback which costs less than half the borla and sounds 10 times better. Your choice

I don't know about the BB's thing.. I had an slp 2otl and my borla sounds better.. also have the McCord power plate and can vary the sound level.. I get compliments on the setup all the time.. shorties, 3in cat, and the Borla.. I can't understand why people think these sound bad.. do they install them with bananas in the tail pipe or something? My setup doesn't have the intercooled tips.. perhaps that does something..

Go with the Borla, add the cutout.. IMO you won't be disappointed.

dont listen to this guy because he could not afford a real catback!
mine sounds mean. really lets people know your around. atleast 1 complement on it everyday i get. so if you want something that will last forever and lets people hear the power buy it . but if your cheap and dont care how long it lasts or sounds go with the dynomax like all the cheapies do

why waste money on a stainless setup? aluminized will last a good 10 years, and im sure hes gonna want a different sound by then if he even owns the car

Money is never wasted on quality... I have owned hooker, slp, and now Borla.. Over the years I upgraded to what fits the budget.. all around for a cat back there is really not much of a substitute, though there are other choices.. but then again we all know about opinions... in my case it fit like a glove, sounds mean when the fuzz aren't around and will last for as long as I own the car.. which will probably be another 22 years.

my guess is he wants something nice for his wifes car.. plus with the borla you can vary the sound.. I still want to hear a borla that sounds bad, as I haven't yet..

You are right J, I do want something nice and good quality for my wifes car. Plus my wife is a bit of a gearhead too, and she wants the best as well!

borla sounds great on a stock car IMO. now is it worth the $600-$700 new? i dont think so.
