I know I'm gonna get trashed for this, but, I had the Flowmaster American Thunder system on my 96 Z, and I loved it! Everyone says it flows a little less than everyone else, O well! It sounded mean! It sounds even better when you hear your own car drive by

I gained a noticeable difference from it too. You didn't mention anything about performance, atleast I don't remember, this is a huge thread! Anyways, you can't go wrong, it's $230 bucks, and a sweet sound. But if not Flowmaster, go with the GMMG

From what I can gather from other threads and other people is that borla sounds awful with longtube headers. Shorties and no cats with a Borla, from what I can gather, sounds great. So my guess is that it's all in the headers.

why would you want to do that to your poor inocent wife. she'll be getting pulled over by the cops every day, and she wont be able to talk on her sell phone while she drives. Not to mention your neighbors will hate it . well its really not that bad, plus it has adjustable plates that regulate the noise level. you should think about the SLP dual cat back, it now comes with a more agressive muffler and its a little less than borla.

With the hotcam, SLP single cats headers, 3" catco cat and Borla catback I thought the car sounded great, non of this BB's in a can stuff. Now I just removed the cat for an ORP......that sounds totally different, pretty sick IMO (bad sick) especially in the midrange and when decellerating. I just ordered a 3" Dynatech Vortex insert cone to see if that helps smooth the sound any. If not I may switch exhausts or just go back to a higher flow cat.

Greg, my negative comments where also based around an ORP, the FLP dual ORPs. I *think* the guy who said bb's was also talking about with an ORP, i easily could be wrong though. I didn't think it sounded like BB's though, more like it's trying to spit out a hairball

Thanks for all the replys and opinions guys, but the Borla cat-back is bought, is in the garage, and is waiting to be installed. As soon as she gets her car back from the dealership, new power steering pump is being installed ( I didn't have time to tackle it myself ), she will be getting her Borla put on. Again thanks for the input, I do appreciate it, and I hope I can get this kind of response everytime I ask a question here!

I've got a flowmaster setup.. (not american thunder)

It sounds like it would chew your grandmothers head off from idle to WOT.. But that's what I like..

I also like some of the resonating setups, but I love the sound of mine.. I wish I had a professional mic so I could post a clip of it..

Oh well. I'm gonna go start my car and listen to it idle in the driveway..
