Personally, if I had paid for the system, then there is no way that a Borla woulda gone on my car. Personally, I really like the way the Hooker sounds, so thats what woulda been on there. Dont get me wrong though, I like my Borla, but for the price of one new, its is not worth it at all in my opnion.

I totally agree. I would never pay MSRP for a Borla. No exhaust is worth that much IMO.

What kind of power increase would a stock 96 Z28 see with a good cat-back system?

My guess would be 5 to 10 actual HP. Yeah yeah, I know they're rated for like 20 or something crazy like that, but there is no way your gonna get that much from something like a cat-back or a CAI. I know CAI's wern't in question, but I'm just pointing out that most of those companys over rate their product.

I must be one of the only people that doesn't care for the borla. I have it on my car, I am running LT's with a ORY and its got no plate in it. It is sooooo loud it gives me a headache...does sound mean tho. I absolutely hate the tips that come on them, and becasue there are two tailpipes on the DS and only one on the PS you can't change the tips. The catback is of very high quality, but I would rather have a mufflex of somehting of that nature. I wish I could find someone that was willing to trade actually.

Yup, mine has the two pipes out of the muffler to a tip of their own, even though the tip looks the exact same as the one on the passenger side.

Re: Borla cat-back, what do you think?

yea some systems have the single tip on the driver side, and some have the dual tip. i always thought the LS1's had the single and the LT1's had the double. i figured the single would be easier to change mufflers if i ever wanted to
