boom feels like i hit a wall

last year a few times when i was doing on off acceleration like hard breaking abck into accelerating i notice once in a while the car would just stop like it hit a wall...the SES light would come on as soon as i let of the gas adn hit it again the light would go off and car would go like normal.....

sommeone else had poted about the same inncedent ands only responses he got were looose sparkplugs and a battery cable touching part of teh body/engine cutting the car out

anybody have any input on this...car only did it once or twice and havent done it since b4 i put it away....i wann get my car back on the road soon and if it happens again i wanna be prepared

Sounds like it could be a fuel pump problem, but when you add in the ABS light that theory kind of goes out the window. Sounds like a strange problem. Hope you get it figured out.

If you're getting low on fuel and cornering or braking hard you could be starving the motor of gas. Maybe the pickup on the fuel pump (if it has one, I really don't know) has come off.

Does it only happen when you hit the brakes hard? How about cornering hard?

Fill the car up with gas and take it for a good spin. Hit the brakes hard and turn some good corners. If it doesn't do it you probably have something wrong with the fuel system when it gets kind of low.

Maybe I'm the only one (besides you of course) that is still up. But it really sounds like a fuel delivery problem, especially when it only happens taking off hard or cornering. I've never changed a fuel pump, but it sounds like a PITA. I'm sure someone will chime in with another response sometime, and I could be dead wrong. Anyway, good luck. I'm going to go to bed now, but I'll keep an eye out on this thread to see how things work out.
