Hey guys, I have a 97 ss a4. The cars is in stock form, I want to add some horsepower but don't want to tear the engine down to do so. What can i buy/bolt on to make the car proform better??


Remeber guys, Horsepower is like sleeping with a hot women, to much is just about right.

 

Cold air intake, Headers, Y pipe, Catback. other things are stall and gears, but they arent bolt ons

 

since you have an A4 i would go gears, headers, and stall.

 

Well i have 3.23 in the rear end, Fatory and I like how they act in town and on the high way, I headers though, What brand is good and I've been looking at the slp loud mouth system, with a off road y pipe. Any thoughts????

 

Most A4 guys go up to 3.42's or 3.73's. Headers kind of depend on what you want/afford and if you have emissions. I've personally heard the loudmouth on a 97Z with and with out an off road pipe.

Pacesetter, Jet-Hot, Hooker, Mac, and SLP are all good header manufacturers, but like posted above, it depends on your emissions requirements and how far you want to go with the car. A search of past posts will help you. That is how I decided on my headers.

 

Well as far as money goes i can do what ever, but the emissions might be a problem, I don't really care about them just aslong as my check engine lights don't come on.
