Body peeling off door- HELP!
Body peeling off door- HELP!
The outter polymer body is starting to peel away on the drivers side door. Does any recommend a certain brand of epoxy to fix it?
thanks in advance:-D

Jeez, that sounds.. well.. not good. How about buying a used door, wouldn't that be better than something that was reparied?
You'll probably get better responses in the appearance or show and shine forum also... maybe one of the mods would be so kind as to move your post for ya.
Good luck with that door.

the same thing recently happened to me, if you do a search for door repair, itll be there, everyone basically said get an adhesive from pep boys or autozone and put it in a caulking gun and fix it yourself.
It is a fairly common problem, especially in cold climates (my 93 is pretty bad due to the doors freezing shut so many times). I think GM actually had a recall but I don't know for sure. There was definitely a post either in this forum or in the Appearance section on the adhesive to fix it though.
When I bought my car, I saw the maintenance history, and apparently the "door skin", needed to be repaired.
I wonder if this was the same thing...
I've since focked the dealer for doing the same to me. Needless to say they have a legal judgement against them, and I got money.
So... maybe... I won't call and ask.... I do suspect it is the same thing.

there was a GM bulletin about door outer panel separation. I think it was for 93 and 94 years. My drivers door separated also. I used a good brand of epoxy, and some of those plastic clamps. Kinda spooned in the epoxy, clamped it down, and let it set for an hour. Still holding strong.
