Re: On Board Computer

you need a power source and a place to mount it if its permenant, like a mounting plate like is used in police cruisers from the console. if you want graphs and such, you'd have to have some scanning software and a cable such as one from AKM

Some good diagnostic software for your 1994 is TTS Datamaster http://www.ttspowersystems.com/diagnostic.htm .

You will need a converter cable like from http://wotelectronics.com , http://akmcables.com/ or there are lots of other places that sell cables (Google for 'em).

Re: On Board Computer

Tunercat and all the free scanners would work great.. I'm actually working on a computer that will have a 7" LCD screen that uses a min-itx board in a ITX case mounted in the trunk. It will draw very little power and with the hibernate feature in XP I can hook it up to the ignition switch and have it hibernate when the car is off and wake up when the car is started. Im gonna use a mini wireless keyboard/thumb mouse for internet surfing. I will use it for tuning but more for media storage and internet. PM me if you are interested in something like that. I own a computer store and have access to good parts cheap.

There is no software that can do all that for your car. There are softwares for monitoring engine and other powertrain functions and there are sofetwares that allow offline tuning of the stock pcm.
