BMR K-Member: w/ Motor Mounts vs/ without...???
BMR K-Member: w/ Motor Mounts vs/ without...???
I've done an extensive search on here, but couldn't find what I was looking for. I found this thread to be pretty good though:

When I put my 383 w/ Long Tubes back in, I'm contemplating the idea of putting everything back on a Tubular K-Member...weight savings/clearance/pimp factor.
My question is is it more worthwhile WITH the built in Motor Mounts, or without them?
What that thread states is:
That "rubber isolator", is that a high-wear item? I need to know before the end of the month (Texas-Speed is having a 10% off sale
FYI).
I'm not too worried about vibration, I have Solid Motor Mounts in my 5.0 Mustang, and planned on getting them for this car as well. I personally love the feel of solids, I feel more "connected" with what's going on with the car.
So, please discuss...w/ or w/o motor mounts.
Thanks!

just called BMR and the way it works is that the DS retains the mount which is attached to the block, therefor the rubber isolator remains on the DS. That's a good thing, no change there.
The PS looses it's rubber isolator and is replaced with BMR's built in poly mount.
So it becomes a hybrid, one side stock with the rubber isolator and one side with a Poly mount and no rubber isolator.

Yeah, the passenger side of the kmember has a poly mount built in, then on the motor side of it, it is solid already so that will hook right up to the kmember.
Drivers side, is solid on the kmember side, you will need a solid mount to go on the engine to make that side totally solid, which is the side you want solid since it torques up on that side.

There is only one KMember you will want to order from BMR, that is the one with LT1 mounts, if you get it without, you will need to fabricate and weld mounts onto the KMember to mount to the engine.
Once you get the KMember, you will want a drivers side solid motor mount from anyone, moroso, etc...
I dont understand what mongse_1 is talking about how moroso mounts will not work, that doesnt make sense to me since they are made to work with a stock setup and a bmr kmember is made to work with a stock setup.

Sweet thanks for the info. So the motor mount that retains the rubber on the block side of the mount needs to be replaced with solid, and Moroso has them. I believe it's the drivers side...
I'm going to see who has the Moroso mount. Who else makes a solid mount? Best place to get it?
How about the part # for the one I need? heh
Thanks, time to go search more...
