Blue Smoke

Well heres the deal, got my car home from getting my new trans put in it, and after about 50 miles of driving it began to start blue smoking. Did a compression check, lowest was 175 and highest was around 185. What else could be causing this smoke? Thanks Paul

Blue smoke is an indication of a blown headgasket.

I always thought white smoke was a blown headgasket, and blue smoke was oil burning.

Kevin stop smoking.

A blown head gasket = burning coolant = WHITE smoke.

Blue smoke is burning oil.

If compression in any two adjacent cylinders are low there is leaking past the head gasket. Oil and coolant in the combustion, combined with blue smoke or constant white smoke from the tail pipe are symptoms of a blown headgasket.

That's straight out of the Chilton's manual.
