Well if the temp gauge pegged, and if the headgasket wasn't blown before it is now
That really sucks too. From my experiences with blown headgaskets and a cracked block here are some symptoms-
loss of coolant (duh)
extreme overheating
blowing cap off of overflow tank
white smoke from exhaust (possibly intermittent)
sweet coolant smell from exhaust
excess liquid dripping from tailpipe
rough idle (sometimes)

Well we started on the car this evening and got everything up top off besides the heads themselves. There didnt look to be a whole lot of coolant up in the intake tracked but my friend did say he thought there might be a little. We will probably get the heads off tommorrow.
