Blown Head gasket

What could be the cause of this? I'm blowing white smoke out the exhaust and I did a check of the car today and this is what I found. I changed the oil and it was not milky or anything. I also pulled 6 out of 8 plugs. I couldn't get to plugs 6 and 8. I did find what seems to be coolant in cylinder 7 only, and nothing in the other cylinders. I got a couple quotes on this, and its so much labor that the cheapest I found was $750. I'll probably tackle this project on my own, but I want to know why the gasket blew? What caused this? I don't want to fix it for it to blow again and have to go through all this over agian.
Thanks for the help!

Sounds about right for blown headgasket symptoms. When it happed to me I got white smoke constantly out of the tailpipe. Low coolant. Car did not run rough though, nor did coolant get in the oil. Also did not over heat.

I'm planning on taking pics. I just want to get to the bottom of WHY it happened so it doesn't happen again. Does anyone sell a gasket set with everything I need? I'll probably buy new head bolts since i've been reading that they snap. Which ones should I buy, or is there a kit for our cars?

Yea, changing headgaskets is quite a sh!tty project. Don't know if it's woth $750, but I have never been so frustrated in my life as when I changed mine out.

I have some ARP head bolts for sale if you want.

Its not a hard job, just time consuming. Feel free to email or PM me with questions.

As to why it happened, did you ever overheat the car?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that. While i've owned the car(since 30K miles and it has 84K now) it has never overheated. That's the mystery behind why the gasket is blown.

Serene: Are the bolts new/used? How much are you asking? LMK.

Thanks man, but i think i'll just tackle it on my own. I'm trying to find out about the lt4 hot cam kit so i can do that while i have everything apart. I'm pretty capable, i did the headers on my car on my own, plus i have all the air tools and hand tools necessary. If you wanna come and help, beer and pizza are on me!
