blower doesn't always work? help

when I first start my car and I turn on the heat it only comes out the bottom and the top but not the vent. When I put it on the vent setting it keeps blowing out the bottom and I can hear the controls hissing, like it wants to change to the vent but can't. What do you guys think it is?

i agree, it's either a broken hose or possible a fitting that has come loose.

There is a little plastic "T" up near the firewall on passenger side with several vacuum lines on it-mine was cracked and doing the same thing yours is-if I recall,it is around $5.

well there was a hose that I couldn't figure where it went. It's the one that comes from the same place the fuel lines do and wraps around the throttle body. Could that have something to do with it or is it something completely different?
