Blower 93 Firebird Detonation

I have a 93 firebird with a lt1. I have done many mods to the car allready which include shorty hooker headers and y pipe, msd ignition box and coil, 3" flowmaster catback exhaust (no more cat) and last but certainly not least ATI procharger P-1SC intercooled supercharger with 9lbs boost.
This winter I am installing a 12" moser rearend with 3:73 gears, a 3000 stall converter and shift kit (hey guys its only $$$$$ might aswell enjoy it while you are here)
I am running the stock injectors but have added a second high pressure fuel pump that came with the blower kit.
A.T.I says that 9 p.s.i. boost isok on a engine with stock internals, so I hope that it is not a problem that needs major surgery tobe solved.
Anyway back to my question. I didnt get the blower until late last year and did not have much opportunity to play with it too much but I did notice alot of detonation and im just woundering if any of you might have any suggestions what I might do to solve this problem.
The car does seem to run alot stronger but I do want to solve my detonation problem.
I have thought that possibly a custom burnt chip may be the solution to the problem.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Dave

def get that thing tuned, your asking for trouble w/o it, and def get bigger injectors, like 50's, but this would probably be better asked in the FI forum

I think that 9 PSI on a stock motor is way too much if it's not intercooled. If it is intercooled, it may be ok.

Swing over to www.speeddensity.org (mostly 93 LT1 specific website) and ask this in the pcmforless section. The Pcmforless chip guy is a resident over there. Or you can email him @ chips@pcmforless.com.

Either way, get that thing tuned, you need it. That should solve your problem unless theres bigger thing that need attention.

They say 9psi will be good, but with awesome stock pistons, it only takes once before you join the rebuild club.

9psi on a stock pistons = Kaboom, It's not a matter of if it will blow, Just when it will blow. I would not go over 6psi even with intercooler and not before I had a good tune. With FI the Tune is everything. With your MSD do you have the boost retard ****? If you do you can back off some timing for the detonation. Stock injectors are way to small for 9psi.

Re: Blower 93 Firebird Detonation

The blower is intercooled and I do have an ignition retard box on it aswell. I find that when I retard the ignition that the thing is a real dog but the detonation is gone.
At this point Im really not to sure what to do.
I was woundering what a custom burnt chip would do for my problem. Appreciate any help you can offer.
