Blocking the EGR and questions on performance?

So the pipe that is hanging from the back of the intake is that sucking in air or is it letting out air? Also would this cause my really rich condition?

When I read your first post about it, it sounded like it was attached to the exhaust manifold and not the intake. Now, I notice that you next said that it was attached to the intake. Ok, so no exhaust leak, since you have nothing coming from the header. The EGR valve must be disabled or removed and blocked off or you will have a big vacuum leak through your dangling pipe and the valve. You can leave the pipe hanging there if you want.
Somebody told me i can leave the Valve there and not have to block it off. Is this true? Can i just put a block off plate where the tubing is hanging from and program the egr out and be okay? Or do i have to block off the valve also? Would this Vacume leak cause me to run rich?

The EGR valve must be disabled or removed and blocked off ...
Once the valve is disabled, the tubing plays no part in anything (in your case). You can do whatever you want with it.
Program it out of the PCM to keep any codes from coming up.
An air (vacuum) leak through the EGR could cause a rich condition.
Okay thanks for all the help shoebox. So i just gotta get that programed out of my pcm and get a blockoff plate for the tube part and i'll be all set. Hopefully that will fix my rich running condition.
