Block filling for clearance???

I've read about the chances of hitting water while grinding for clearance for large stroke cranks in the LT1, my question is can you half fill the block to eliminate the chances of hitting water. If you half fill block and grind into filling agent will it matter? How much does it hurt your streetability to half fill the block? What is the maximum stroke that can be used in this instance?( 3.875 or 4.0 ) I'm sorry I haven't worked on my sig yet, please forgive me. Thank You in advance for any help.

If you break thru with a half fill it's not a big deal.... actually if you plan on breaking thru just fill the lowest part of the block with some epoxy first, then fill so if you do break thru it's not a issue.

You can get a 4" crank in there if you just use some smaller journal rods and crank. Or some very small rods, problem is they have to be very exotic to hold up to high power levels.

IHMO it's only worth it if you are spending a ton of money on the motor and your top end package is more than up to the task, spend money on the heads first!
