Blinking SES light

I got my headers installed about 2 weeks ago. The service engine soon light was on a day later because I got my EGR and AIR disconnected. The car was running fine for a while but now its running slightly choppy. The SES light is blinking now and at first I thought it was because of the emissions stuff but after reading on here, yall are saying that it is a misfire w/ the spark plugs. Do you think I burnt a wire? or do you think it is just my emissions acting up?

I got the very same thing when I did my headers. Turned out to be a burnt wire and one of the opti boot came off the opti.

Easy was to check is to buy or loan an infrared temp probe. (Temp gun). Take the temps of all your header primaries, and the one that's cold will be the dead cylinder. Check that plug wire/plug and replace as needed. Cheap and effective diagnostic tool.

Oh, BTW, I hooked up my scanner when I got that missfire. It told me which cylinder was missfiring. Oh the joy of ODB2.

Part 2:
I went back to my mechanic and talked to him. At first he put in my headers and I went back a week later and he changed my wires. He said that #3 (he thinks) is burnt because it came really close and he had put some shielding on it but the shielding (some fiberglass heat shielding that i got from ThunderRacing) was already hard and you could break it w/ your hands if you wanted to. He also forgot to tell me about this so it ended up burning.
I went to AutoZone and got it scanned. 5 codes: 2 about egr, 2 multiple misfires, and one about some slow o2 sensor reading in bank one, i dont know what that one was about.
I guess I'll have to cough up another $100 to get some OVC wires because I decided to go the cheap way out.
A few questions though:
What is this slow o2 reading about? I got rear o2 simms.
How much of a PITA are these wires to change w/ the car all together?
What's the cheapest place I can get some OVC wires?
I guess I'm stupid for not paying the extra 50 bucks for OVC wires, if anybody is about to do the header install, dont be cheap. Thats $50 down the crapper because of me being cheap

Are you using stock (sized) wires? I had LT's installed a year ago, bought stock sized wires, they fit in th stock looms, and have never burnt a wire.

Mine did the sam thing...02 sensor bank 1. Was it the code P0141 by any chance?? LOL...Check your 02 wires cuz it runs close to the headers...On my passenger side, I wrapped em up in heat tape...their so stiff with heat shield tape its pathetic...
