Blew out Two Oil Filter O-Rings Today.....WTF
This has me perplexed. Ran the crap out of my car on the dyno yesterday.....something like 8-10 pulls, plus a solid couple of hours of street runs getting the tune done. No problems noted.
Get out to the shop this morning, it's cold, but no colder than yesterday. Typical bearish cold start for the setup, got it holding a low idle on its own after a couple of minutes. Leave shop, and in the process of leaving the shop and getting 1/2 mile down the road, I pissed out all 7 quarts.
Called shop, they came to the car, put it in the air, sure enough, oil filter O-Ring was blown out. Odd.......got a new filter and more oil, filled, started, pressure came up, then about 10 seconds later my wife says "There it goes again" right as we audibly hear it start pissing oil out the filter o-ring.
Motor is built for 20w50 oil, running VR1 and Wix filters. Did not have this problem before, and nothing was touched between the last dyno pulls yesterday afternoon and today a mid-day when this happened. The gauge is reflecting about 70 PSI cold start and holding, it didnt' even peg. Melling High Pressure pump on the motor.
Thoughts?

Re: Blew out Two Oil Filter O-Rings Today.....WTF
Sounds like a plugged oil passage or bad/froze relief valve on the pump. Maybe something got lodged in it and wont let it open. Had same problem with my Z when I first bought it. I bought it non running. They thought the motor was locked up because it just refused to turn over one day. Cleaned up battery ends and it fired up. Then started pissing oil everywhere. Blew out 3 filters before I dropped the pan and found the relief valve froze up.
Dont know if its possible after it running fine the day before. Mine sat for about a year before I got it, so thats understandable.
