well ya lol you dont buy new coils dude. you also make your own brackets. that eliminates the need for the bolts and brackets. and why you need a new oil cap is beyond me.

Believe me, i can do the LTCC conversion for less than he wants for one opti.

Here's what he said in his original post:

One last thing- In an effort not to step on anyone's toes on this board, (Admins & Mods) we'll not be answering any questions here on this board. If you have a question, please email directly.

So my guess is, probably not!

sure

im a 93 car and DAL still cant get me one for much less than 250 bucks...

like many others im afraid to wash my engine bay...

everytime i tear down the motor, im afraid a new distributor is added to the list where gaskets should only be..

i would love to see a high quality, coolant and oil free, distributor for my sled...

Now this says a lot of what they did to make this Dynaspark. Gosh, if you read this and still have doubts, I do not know what else could be done to convince anyone?

I see that there are many fans of doing that LTCC thing. What do you really gain? Really? Is there anything gained other than eliminating a part of the Opti? Any HP? You all talk about making brackets to hold the coils, wiring, etc......to me that would just clutter up what we already have under the hood and if you are not an expert at fabrication....YUCK! That would look like crap! Of course, this is my personal opinion and you all certainly do not have to agree....and I'm not trying to make anyone mad......but I do ask these questions honestly......I certainly do not want to have some pieced together system under my hood! It would seem that you are just adding more points of potential failure.

I really would be willing to do the swap right now, if only I had $600 lying around! I'll even donate my 109k mile Opti to science!

Cool

I had no idea this even existed.I am thoughly impressed.Trying to find the web site is hard. When you search for optisparks, there are over 1700 sites to go to.Maybe if it were in the top ten?I really do like this though.My02

With the LTCC, eliminating the moving parts in the secondary ignition portion is a big thing, IMO. Ever wonder why GM and other manufacturers have been using distributor-less ignitions since the 80's? Reliability is higher, not lower.

...and don't ask the question "then why did they use a distributor on the LT1?"... No one can answer.

Ditto, as i said before. They need to make an opti replacement which is basically a crank trigger with high/low pulse signals. Then package it together with the LTCC, with all the mounting brackets, wires, and all other hardware included for the setup. That would be the hot ticket that everyone would buy.

It will not be an 800 bucks kit...

It will be close to 1200 bucks to do so...

Lets say they lower the price to 400... Awesome... That would be 400 DynaSpark
400 LTCC
400 for NEW!!! coils and other stuff...

Now eliminating the new coils and you get your owns it would be at least $900-1000 kit... Its a lot of $ and I know its a better system.
