Big Problem with my new SLP clutch

Ok so i just did a M6 swap on my 94 Z28. The swap went fine and we had no problems.

After getting everything done the car vibrated really bad when you got above 3500 RPM's and was on it. If you just drove around normally it was fine but when you got on it at higher RPM's it would vibrate. After smelling burning cluthch it was determined the clutch slipping was causing the vibration as it was trying to grab but was slipping.

Pulled the clutch back out and here is what we found.

On the pressure side of the pressure plate The inner most part of the pressure plate(part closet to the hub) is blued and burnt. The outer edge of the pressure plate doesn't look like it is even making contact with the disc. The disc looks like it is only grabbing on the inner most edge also. The flywhel looks the same way. It is blues all around the innder egde but doesn't look like it's making contact around the outer ede.

I am using all stock original master and slave cylinder. Had the stock flywheel resurfaced. Is it just a faulty pressure plate or something in the car that is causing it?

Thanks
Shawn

Yea this is why people give these clutch's a bad name cause they don't install them right. MAKE SURE you ligned up those mark's correctly.

Well i had a shop do the install. They have done lots of clutches for people i know. I assume they would know about this but i will ask them to make sure.

Also could a bent clutch for or worn out slave cylinder cause a problem?

Thanks

about this balance mark on the flywheel and clutch. What does it look like? will the clutch bolt up if the balance marks aren't lined up? Does it apply with a aftermaket clutch?

I asked the shop that did the clutch install and they said they didn't notice any balance mark and told me that it will only bolt up one way probably. I noticed on the edge of the pressure plate there are little blancing holes drilled into some of the metal.

Please tell me or show me what these balancing marks look like so i can make sure this don't happen again.

Thanks
Shawn
