about 8 months ago i got a bunch of clutch work done ($1000) and about 3 months ago my 4th gear would grind every once in a while later it got stuck in forth for a few days untill i stalled it and it popped out. Now when im driving third grinds everytime it goes in and when i put it in second it will not stay in unless i put pressure on it. After it enguages it will stay in untill i take it out. When the car is idleing i can go in all the gears and it work fine and there is no problem. The clutch place said that it was the tranny because the clutch really doesnt do much when driving. Im not sure they just said that so thay dont have to do anything or if i have to throw down a lot of money for a new tranny.

Ans if it is the tranny is there another way of doing it w/out a new one. (cheapest possible way)

I'm guessing, and its only a guess, that if you are having problems shifting in and out of SPECIFIC gears, that you have a transmission issue. If you have problems shifting in and out of ALL gears then it could be a clutch issue, but could still very likely be a tranny problem.
