I drove home from college today which is about 80 miles or so. So when i got around my house...like 5 mins away from it...I stopped at a light and then started going again and it was a hill to I push the gas up to 2500rpm and I hard loud noise like BOOM..I thought maybe the car slipped and then got traction again or maybe a pot hole or something. So I started going again and it did it again. The Noise is comin from like under neath the center console. I parked the car and wanted to move it up a bit and i hit the gas and it made the same Noise Again. So i didn't drive the car afterwards. I check the fluid and it seemed fine. The car is a 94 T/A with about 116000 miles on it and A4. I recently flushed the Fluid at GM dealership over the summer. The fluid seems clear and pretty good. I guess the trans mounts are lose...What you guys think...Please help me out here...have to make it bak to college on Sunday...My only ride...

 

my tranny mounts went out on me @ around 90K. It made a very loud noise like you described as the car would shift. I could also feel a very noticeable jolt coming from under the car. I just knew tranny was toast but it turned out to be only the mounts. Problem was fixed for fifty bucks.

Yea tranny mount. Mine whent out when I first bought my car, scared me. I thought I broke my transmission.

 

Tranny mount. Mine went out at 62k. They are $9.22 from autozone and take literally 10 minutes to do. If you can fit under your car you dont even need to jack it up. Just jack the tranny to take pressure off, unbolt the mount, remove the crossmember, remove the two bolts holding it on the trans, and replace it with the new one. I found it easier than an oil change.

 

Thanx a lot guys...yup it was the Trans mount, got it replaced and she's running fine again. Thanx a lot for helping me out..I was having heart attacks thinking I blew the Trany....

 

Yup its the tranny mount..i went to Advanced Auto and got a life time one you have to love life time parts..hehehe

 

Yeah try the life time pads.. NOT the are like made of granite and destroy your rotors inside of a month.
