Re: Big LT1

i've seen 410's but i think that's about as big as i'd go on a stock block.. Lot's of clearancing in the lower half and a decent oversized bore...

Re: Big LT1

Also looking at sonic testing a few blocks to get there.
My advise would be just stick to 383/396 and sinke all the money you were prepared to spend going big cubes into the heads. If really looking to spend big money on the project look at gen1 altered angle heads there is more potential there than the available LTX castings, conversion to reverse flow usually costs somewhere around $500 then you need to figure out what to do about an intake.

Re: Big LT1

There's someone that used to post here that sleeved the block for 427ci. There is another individual who is long gone, who built two different versions of a 421ci LT1.... 4.030" bore x 4.125" stroke, and 4.090" bore x 4.000" stroke. Big $$$$$

Re: Big LT1

In a nutshell you drill the extra cooling holes in the heads and then resurface them.

If it's a race car, why limit yourself to an LT1 based engine? They make aftermarket K members for small block swaps, LSx swaps, and even big block swaps.

Re: Big LT1

Put a 732" BB in it. The cost is about the same.
