is it a big deal using tap water compared to distilled in the radiator??

is it a big deal using tap water compared to distilled in the radiator??

just wondering, i filled my radiator with the orange stuff and tap but i hear some ppl saying use distilled, i don't see the big deal or am i missing something???

I'd use distilled water. It's not expensive, so why not use it?
Tap water might have salts and all sorts of impurities that you don't want in your cooling system.

My tap water here is DISGUSTING!!! FOr $.50/gallon you can get distilled water at Wal-Mart...

well, i have piped in good water that is safe for drinking(not well), it's not bad

The bad thing about distilled water is that it causes electrolisis, It will gradualy eat away the aluminum and other parts. Most of this is pesonall preference, but your best bet is filtered water out of the machines at your grocery store. From there I'd just do reagular flushing when the time comes. Sorry about the spelling I'm a little drunk.
