BFG hooks alot better but has a life of about 5-8K street driving, Nitto wont hook as good but can last up to 15K or more

Go with BFG's..I have a set of Nittos and I can't get them to hook no matter what I do...I haven't even began to mod the car yet...so before it is over with I am going with some BFG's or slicks...definately don't get Nittos

The local speed shop highly reccommended the BFGs over the Nittos. I'm going to pick up a set of BFGs as soon as I get home from school

i have a vid of a race between a '03 Cobra with CAI, exhaust, pulley, delta chip, and nittos (and tri ax shifter), vs. a stock mercedes E55 AMG (auto) with bfg g-force drag radials.

The cobra got killed the first race, cuz he couldnt hook. He hooked better the second race, and still lost cuz he couldnt hook like the benz. the bfgs didnt even chirp.

wow compairing apples and the spaceshuttle.....

You cant forsure chaulk that up to tires. I'm sure htey played a roll, but..... there are to many other difference's

I have a question, what size tires could you put on 16" if htey are just going ot see street driving to and from the track.

most visible difference was traction/fishtailing. But youre right, the german cars have more weight on the back.

the whole suspension is different and set up completely different.
you can not compair tires on differnt cars.

my buddy has the cheapest kumo somethings on his sunfire, and will dead hook from 3500 drop.
but I'm sure on my car I would lite them on fire doing that.

true, but its not as bad as comparing a sunfire to an lt1 either. Huge difference in power, front vs rear drive.

on street tires they have the exact same zero to 60 time. This tells me that in the end, all the differeing factors even out if the stang has a good driver.

U change the tires around and the stang gets worked - either the tires are bad or the driver. Youre point is valid, my hunch still says the cobra was in large part screwed by its nittos.

I love my Nittos..had a set of khumos out back before and man do these things hook. I guess you just gotta know how to drive them and not expect them to hook up like a full slick. And they really like being heated up real well
