BFG DR's vs Nitto DRs

Which is better....BFG Drag Radials, or Nitto Drag Radials? Give me your honest opinion. Some numbers or personal experience would be good too.

Thanks,
Biz

For strictly track use, street or both? For street/strip use I would say Nitto's are the best, mainly because they wear much better than BFG's, about 2-3 times as long and hook almost as good. I have 275/40/17 Nittos for the street and 255/50/16 BFG's for the track. I run slightly better times with the BFG's, not much of a difference though.

I would not go with BFGs if you plan on driving on the street all the time. No joke, about 400 miles and the tread is about shot on them.

I've got the Nitto Extreme Drag Radials as well, and I like that the wear is reasonable. They also hook much better than standard Z rated radials. Go for the Nittos!

Nittos all the way. BFGs are good but they won't go more than 5-600 miles on the street.

For strictly track use go with the BFG's. For street/strip duty go with the Nitto's. I cut a 1.70 60ft. on Nitto drags, so they hook decent.

Do nittos need to get burned down for them to hook?

Let me know

If you are going for a street strip tire, go with the nittos, but if you have an extra set of rims then get some et streets. Bfgs are good but it is still a radial tire. The et street is pretty much a slick except for a couple lines of tread so they could be dot approved. Not good for everyday use though.

My BFG DRs last 4000-5000 miles and hook in the 1.60-1.70 range...I replace them yearly...never used the nittos, because the BFGs work so well...and that's 4000-5000 before they become too low to be legal, but there's still plenty left for the track...

500-600 miles...WTF were you doing...burnouts at every corner?

I got almost 15,000 miles out of my BFG with who knows how many burnouts and trips down the track. Sure, they were bald at the end...but if your street racing and you lose by like 1/2 car...you'll be kicking yourself and not thinking how much longer they last....

I was thinking hte same thing. I'll have mine on seperate 16" salad shooters for track use. I can get the BFG's for $127, and the Nitto's for $128.

I've read that they both hook almost the same, but the thing is that mine will be just for the track since I have 18" wheels. I might just go for the BFG's cus I wouldnt be at the track every week anyways. Nittos would dry up on me before I wore them down anyways.

the safe bet is BFG's are better for track use.

They do wear very quick if you drive with them all the time. street and strip together I got a good 3,000 miles out of them.

do yourself a favor, buy a jack and change tires whenyou go to the track. buy cheap salad shooters for $25 each and mount drag radials on them.
