Best way to remove a broken manifold bolt?

I removed the driver side manifold today and the bolt to the right of the #5 primary was broken. The head was still sitting in the hole in the manifold but must have broken awhile ago. Whats the best way to remove this damn thing without having to remove the head?

if the bolt didn't break off flush with the head i would try to get some vice grips on it.

Weld a 3/8 flat washer to what is left of the bolt. Just hold the washer flat against the head and weld in the center hole; then weld a nut to the washer and it should spin right out.

We must have posted at the same time. Try what I said above. I have done it literally hundreds of times with great success. I work in an exhaust shop.

I'm sorry, I don't seem to understand what your saying. There isn't anything sticking out either. kinda broke off in the hole....if not in the hole, then flush.

the opti spark bolt shouldnt be very tight. I would get an extractor kit at your local auto part store(the one with a drill bit and a reverse threading tool). It should work fine, just drill down the center of the bolt. Check the length of the other ones to make sure you don't drill too far and into the block.
