Best way to do a data log run?

I'm working on fixing a stumble that occurs intermitently throughout the rpm range and I just got a program and cable to download the data from my Autoxray scanner to my PC. I was out last night logging some runs with it and was wondering what is the best way to do it. Do you run through each gear to redline (M6) or leave it in say 3rd or 4th and go from a slow roll to redline? It likes to go through the gears pretty quick with the 4:10's and the cam, just wondering what is the best driving method for gathering info when trying to diagnose a problem.

I would have to recommend that you do it both ways so you can get a look at how it acts under differing driving conditions.

I guess I'll try a few different methods. It actually wasn't even missing bad last night when I took it out for a test run That figures. Thanks for the suggestions.

Log one file in the city, normal driving, lots of stops and does. and the 2nd run go on the highway and go through each gear and high rpm, do like 2nd gear romps and let off mid-top of 4th, which is what i did.
