Best way to clean injectors by hand...

Is there any decent or sensible way to clean injectors by hand? Something like soaking them in injector cleaner or even gas maybe???

Any ideas? I bought these injectors used and wanted to see if anything could be done to freshen them up. They only have 4K miles but I figured every little bit helps.

I doubt you could clean them by hand. The cost of cleaning is fairly high. I had a set done by TPIS for about $30 per injector. For that fee, they ultrasonic and solvent clean them, flow test them and flow match them, and if they can't get them to flow match, they replace the bad ones for the same price. But for $240, you can get a set of alledgedly "flow-matched" SVO's.

If you've got a high $$$ injector, bite the bullet and get them professionally cleaned and flow matched.

Take a 9v battery or a AA would proubly work. take some wire and attach it to each of the metal prongs on the injector then to the + and - on the battery this will open the injector and allow you to spray cleaner through it.

Fred, not really a high dollar injector just a set of 36lb SVO's. I see your point though.

Even more exciting when you strike a spark while spraying that 'hot' solvent
