Best Tire Choice for my car?

Hey guys, I was wondering what you guys thought the best tire choice for my car would be, I have a 96 M6 with a 383 and 3.42 rearend. I dont want the car to hook so bad that I always have a chance of breaking somethin but I also dont want to spin through 1st and 2nd, any ideas. thanks

I have Firestone Firehawks 245/50/16's and I get good spin, but they also check up good too. But I really like these and I think Im going to get these when its time for new tires.http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....odel=AVS+ES100

They'll diffinately hook up more, but if you go to the track often that would be a good investment, but for regular everyday street driving I dont know if Id go that route.

well what wheels are you runing? With a 383 i would sugest at least a 275 width tire or even a 315 and it will look badass while giveing you traction. If your using the stock wheels you can't go much above a 255 and thats the size the brg drag radials come in If you don't launch at 3k+ on sticky tires you most likely won't brake anything.

my wheels are 16X8 and im not gonna be launchin to take the front end off the ground, and i will be spendin alot of time at the track, as well as my car is only driven nights and weekends during the summer so tire wear isnt a big deal for me, i just dont want a tire to stick too much and break anything in my rearend

I'd get one of these if you're planning on running around on the street a lot, both are awesome tires IMO, but the Goodyears are more of a 3 season tire depending on where you are. Good luck for your 383...

Well if this is a weekend/ pleasure vehicle i highly recomend some drag radials. Most people get 10,000-15,000 miles on a set including burnouts at the track and i have seen cars with dr's pull 1.6 60' so they are sticky. Nitto and bfg make them and i think the nittos last a little longer but aren't as sticky as the bfg's. I just picked up a pair of stock wheels to put some bfg dr's on for when i go to the track.
