Re: Best spark plugs and wires?
Well if your plugs and wires have lots of miles on them, it certainly won't hurt to change them out. I'd stick with NGKTR55s (the copper--cheaper,but good conductors, if you plan on changing them again in 30-40 g, or go with the plats or irradiums (NGKs which will last longer) gapp'em at 0.50 (check the gap) use some plug grease and go for it. As far as wires, I personnally would go for either OEM or MSD stock size, since larger wires take up more room and might give you some problems in the fitment department.
Since changing the plugs can be a real pain, if you can find someone to do it for 100 bucks plus the cost of the plugs and wires it will save you some real stress. You might be able to talk a dealer into doing it for that, however I've heard of reports of over 200 bucks--100 bucks sounds good to me. JMHO.

Re: Best spark plugs and wires?
What kind of car do you have? Any mods (like headers?)
You are going to get all kinds of different opinions with this one. Most people will just tell you what they did.
I've use NGK-TR55 plugs gapped at 0.50 for the last 2 changes, and they all looked good when coming out.
This last time (when I installed the SLP shorty headers) I got 8mm Accell Extreme 9000 wires from Summit. They're supposed to be good up to 1000*F (but have a 600* Jacket).
I then got some Taylor Fire Sleeves from Summit, and put them over the spark plug boot on the wire. These are supposed to withstand temps to 1200*F.
I ran the driver's side pretty much like the factory configuration (except my AIR pump is gone). I ran the passenger's side behind the steering pump (underneath the alternator), and up through the motor mount to the plugs; using plenty of wire seperators and zip ties.
The biggest killer in this area is, heat to the plug wires. As long as you can keep them from burning, or getting hardened, it'll be fine.
I recommend you do it yourself though. This is a good time to check out the rest of the car. Look for any oil/coolant leaks; check out exhaust mating surfaces (looking for carbon tracks), look at clutch slave cyl (if you have an M6), pinion seal, U-joints, etc .....
Thomas.

Re: Best spark plugs and wires?
I used Magnacore wires once man those were nice wires, but very $$$ as the dealor found out when they had to replace a couple wires after laying them on the header primaries. They were about 80 a set, and used AC Delco stock platinum plugs. Which i just too out like 6,000 miles later for Autolite 103's<<nitrous plug don't use in your car.
