Best sounding exhaust
Yeah everybody is going to say theirs is the coolest. You really have to just find some cars and listen to em. I've got the V-force on mine and it sounds good, I've heard the loudmouth from SLP and as far as I'm concerned theres not much better. Pretty light too.
borla.....its awsome
io had ther loudmouth and it was cool until i got headers then it became toooooooooooo loud....with the borla u can switch the plates and make it quieter or louder

nobody has said mufflex yet... I think i have one of every type of exhaust in my club..the best sounding ones are the GMMG and the 4 inch mufflex w/ spintech. they sound about equally as good.
4 inch mufflex w/ heads, big cam, LT's, no cat=

The only other cat-back that probably sounds better is the GMMG. But it better for that kind of $$$.

I used to have a flowmaster single outlet muffler, as well as a flowmaster dual outlet.. I believe it was a delta flow or something like that.
I liked the flowmaster single outlet, although it wasn't too loud and didn't sound too throaty/deep. After I got in my accident, the muffler got banged up, so the bodyshop replaced it with the flowmaster delta flow or whatever it is.
From the outside, it sounded awesome, REAL loud - when I unhooked my i-pipe from the cat, the sound just got a tiny bit louder. Kind of sounded like I had a small 2" cutout. Very bassy, LOT of rumble. The only thing I didn't like is that it resonated and droned, and all that bass in teh cabin was not good for conversation with a friend.
I recently switched to a hooker cat-back, and I love it. During cruising/average driving, it just sounds mellow, just a tad louder than stock (even with my headers and offroad pipe). But once I get on the gas, a different level of sound just kicks in, and it sounds like a nice, refined sports car just screaming and puling. I don't know how it does it - but I ove it.
At idle, from the inside, it sounds stock. From the outside, I can hear the thump of the cam.
My vote goes for hooker aero chamber.
Although I've heard the slp 2otl sounds good too.

When it comes the borla, I think you hear all kinds of opinions because people do not mention the configuration they are running it in.
On my 97 trans am, I put the borla on with the stock cat and manifolds in place. I LOVED the sound. A nice, deep, performance rumble. I don't think there is a better sound for the f-body. Not too loud at all, either, with no highway "drone". That being said, a catback isn't a great performance increase. So, I cut out the cats to get better flow and a few more HP. This drastically changed the sound of the borla. Still sounds about the same at idle and coasting around town, but it is WAYYY louder at WOT and gets raspy. Gone is the nice performance rumble all the way to redline. A borla without a cat is not a great sound IMHO. People always ask me if I even have a muffler because it is so loud. (all of my comments are with the fully closed plate on the borla. If you ever run it with any of the other plates with holes in them, it gets even raspier, louder, and sounds like a beater without a muffler).
I then put a set of MAC headers and left the cat off. The MAC's actually mellowed out the sound a bit and didn't seem to make it much louder. There was a SOTP improvement in performance.
So, if you are willing to keep cat/cats on the car, the borla has a great sound! I'm thinking of going to high-flow cats, just to get the sound back.
One other item of note: if you are going with an electric cutout, they all seem to leak a little bit when fully closed. This will make the sound of the borla a bit more harsh than with a fully closed plate in place.
