Best route to go for heads??

I may start looking into getting heads this summer, but I'm just curious what would be the best route to go? Would I be better off buying some used heads, and having a guy port them matched to my cam, or buying a off the shelf set? I have a ZZ409 cam, and would like the heads to be some what close to what the cam needs. What do you guys think?

Don't know what cam that is, but why not just have your heads ported and maybe slap some bigger valves in while your at it?

A good port job on an LT1 head will support just about anything you want to do, short of building a full-out drag racer.

Furthermore, buy used heads is risky. And as long as you have to swap heads anyway, you might as well put your oun back on. JMHO
