I like Comp Cams Pro Magnums 1.6:1 ratio with 7/16" studs and flat guide plates.
You will have to clearance the support ribs inside the valve covers a bit, but it's not too bad.

Yep, that's what I got. Non self-aligning. Part numbers of my stuff:

CC 1.6RR - 1305-16
GM guideplates - 14011051
ARP studs - 134-7103
CMS springs - 611

These require modifying your heads to accept guide plates and the larger studs though right?

Best stud rocker... eh, anything not aluminum, whether that's a Pro-Mag, High Tech Stainless, or something like Crower's SS rockers. On mild stuff it isnt as big a deal though

'84, nothin' special required - just unbolt & bolt on

Yeap. I got the self aligning pro mags. Best one I ever had on any car. Al will not last long on a street car. Pro mags are built for the street. The only down fall to them is if you dont get them ajusted just right you will get knock retard of up to 8 degrees that I had. And others I know from the b-body community dont like them for that reasom also. To solve that instead of going 3/4 turn I adjusted with the car running and listen til valve stop ticking then went 1/2 then locked down and KR was gone.

Ditto!! Exact same setup. I was told that the Crane's sometimes break since the aluminum doesn't hold up to constant high RPM's.
