Best place to put B&M tranny cooler??
Hi I bought a tranny cooler off a cool dude on this board and i want to know where is the best place to put it. I mean i dont want to block off anything having to do with the original cooling system. If anyone has any suggestions i am all open to them.

fbody.com is down right now, but you can go there later or tomorrow & see my install guide.

cool thanks ur da man

I should post pics of my install.
I went ot pep-boys and picked up an all aluminum RV trans cooler which was a size larger then the recommended (because you know our lt1's run hot) I had a small barbed brass hose connecter laying around which saved my ***.
I installed the cooler right up in front of the AC condensor (the first thing you see hwen you get under there and look up. The hoses run off to the side where there is a small black piece of plastic that covers a small rectandle of space that is about 8 inches tall and 4 inches wide. This small piece pops right out and you cna stuff the hoses through there and push it back in place. Almost like it was meant to be this way. I was able to push the ties through carefully and clip off the ends without even taking out a fan and i simply cut the hoses once everyhitng was lined up and mounted. It looks PRO
The only cutting I did was the hose length. I would rather run the hoses out of the way then down under the car where stuff might hit them etc. my 2 cents
took me about 1 hour and some careful thinking.

Wouldnt mounting it where you did make the engine run a bit hotter? Im just wondering, or did it run cooler?
I did this mod on the same day I did my
T.B. Bypass
New upper and lower radiator hoses
Coolant flush and all new coolant
Hypertech Power Programmer III with 160 thermo
My engine never gets over 185 !
Even sitting in traffic on a hot day it runs cool as a cucumber. I never thought i would see the day my F-body runs at a decent actually really decent temp.
The cooler is lightweight aluminum (i have two steel black ones like the B&M sitting around my house) and it is somwhat seperated from the condensor by those little pads. It doesn't seem like it would get in the way at all. I mounted offset to the passenger side and the setup is badass. the hoses exit to the pass side out that small black plastic thing and i didn't evne have to cut it. They stuff right over there and out of the way. they just kind of dissapear around the side right underneath where the stock trans lines run into the radiator so the rubber lines are super short (less possibilities for problems)
no cooling problems whatsoever
