depends on what youre gonna do....are you gonna stay stock CI and just do bolt ons with a low budget?...or are you going 400+ CI and need some heads that flow crazy up to 8000rpm?

Re: Best LT1 HEADS???

Best heads for an LT4 hotcam car are stock LT1 casting heads. Get them moderately ported to match the cam. Llyod or Phil can save u money and make sure your car rides out with the hotcam.

My first set of heads were from Llyod. Killer low price on the heads. They were moderatly ported with larger valves/valve job. Looked like he used a double cut and the exhaust wasnt polished and the intake wasnt really smoothed out. A budget head set up. He Did was would give me the most power on a budget price. I was running the xe230/236 112lsa. The car hauled ***. 2003-2004 Cobras got to see the "SLOW LT1's" tail lights.
I kept the LE heads but my frind Bob sponsered me and worked the heads to the max and the car's got more power now with the heads flowing 282cfms at .550.

I'd trust Llyod or Phil over the larger cylinder head companies.

Buy a set of 18* Brodix heads and have Bret convert them to reverse cooling for you. Or you could do the Aaro 32v heads, but those aren't cheap.

I think that set dreamer1q is selling would be a great match to your set up and the bang for the buck would be very tough to beat.

Except for the fact that they were done by ARE, they should be fine.

ARE can't port heads to save their collective asses. Ask me how I know.

Re: Best LT1 HEADS???

Ah, didn't know that.. Maybe some info from dreamer1q on what kind of power he made with them would help.

Another option in the same price range would be Lloyd Elliott's LE1 combo. $1100 gets heads and cam. I don't know what heads alone would cost...

Re: Best LT1 HEADS???

Heads are where the power is at, but unfortunately you will get what you pay for in most cases. Without a budget, it's tough to suggest anything, as you can spend anywhere from $1000-3000 on worked over LT1's. The difference will primarily be in the quality of machinework and hours spent making all 8 cylinders consistent with each other. Without the facilities to do so, many simply can't keep their machinework under control, and without the $ to pay for the time, some may produce a decent initial test cylinder, but can't afford to actually duplicate it on the other 7 cylinders. Outlining a budget should probably be your first step

Re: Best LT1 HEADS???

Exept that they only recommend them(trickflows) for strokers or power adders because of the largerer than stock chamber that would drop compression on a stock shortblock. If you want to use them on a NA 350 and keep your compression you would need to do one or a combination of the following, new pistons, thin head gasket, mill the hell out of the heads.

My advise would be to use ported stock castings, I don't just look at the aftermarket and buy into all the advertizing so I am sure others will disagree.
