Re: Which is the best exhaust system?

for me the best candidate was Borla. i can run the exhaust all through the muffler for a nice quiet sound. or i can just take the passenger side tip off for a deep loud rumble. it's been on there for over 3 years and except for a couple of scratches on the tips, it still looks new.

But if you need a cat back the best and most affordable is the Random Technology cat back, it has a streight through design and has no restriction such as chambers

Where can I find the "Randam Tecnology exhaust" ?

Re: Which is the best exhaust system?

Best sounding Ive heard so far is 2OTL... both tail pipes exit the pass side instead of splitting off like most systems. It weighs no more than 20lbs and is probably top 5 best flowing systems on the market. Has a real nice clean sound to it! Borla sounds great on a stock car but take off the cat and it gets pretty ugly. Most other systems sound better with headers, no cats or high flow cats with the exception of Borla IMO... gets way too raspy for my taste.

Man why do you say SPL, no cats and long tubes sound like crap?
That is the set up I was looking at, what is wrong with it?
I want something loud.

I love these posts the most, they make me laugh. Very educated.

Well here is a list of some. You best bet is to search till you find exactly what YOU want and works best for YOU.

True Duals - Best Power Great Sound Beware, Not for all users
GMMG - Known for its Signature sound and high flow. Costly and one of a kind design Stainless Steel Found on Special Edition GMMG cars like the ZL1/BergerSS etc.
Corsa - Premium System that you'll pay for. Too mild for some. Sweet tips. Stainless Steel
B&B - Quotes lots of power on LT1's. Another Premium system SS
Borla - "Period" SS Adjustable design provides a fancy way to waste time.
Hooker - Good muscle car sound, header friendly, Aluminumized Steel
Loudmouth - Good flow Nice sound for most until headers, then it becomes cumbersome for many. SS.
2OTL/TOTL - Nice catback, good sound, some prefer tips on both sides though. SS
Magnaflow - Mellow sound, yet good system. SS
Random Tech - Another nice system, I believe its Aluminumized Steel
MAC - Nice catback good sound optional Aluminumized Steel
Cut-out - Isnt an exhaust system, but satisfies some.

I am sure there are more, but I dont have the time to go on and on. Many have various tip options but you have to really look into each and narrow them down depending on which fits your needs and wants.

Right on man, Random Tech makes a very good cat back system.

here

I take it you have an LT1, just scroll to the bottom you'll see it. If you don't have an LT1, just find the LS1 and go to exhaust. They go for 380 with aluminized steel and 605 with stainless.

I think Borla is a little too over rated for my tastes, honestly.

You would need to replace the SLP resonater with a bullet muffler or something else. They pop and crackle alot and just dont sound good when you get into heavy mods. A 3" true dual setup is extremely loud and nice sounding. You also pick up a little torque with the X-pipe.

i went with hooker because its priced low, flows very well, and sounds DAMN GOOD. It's really all opinion though, everybody has their own taste.
