Best Exhaust to Get.

I'm looking at getting some performance Cat-backs for my car to replace my stock exhaust system. Its an LT1, and I was wandering what everyone thought woudl be my best buy. Im willing to spend 350$ on it.

Thanks

For that price range I would say the Hooker or Loudmouth. If you had about 700 I would say the GMMG. I like the way my flowmaster sounds, but it doesnt perform near as well as the previous mentioned.

Magnaflow: Only stainless steel system around $350, sounds pretty good from what I've heard.

Some may suggest Hooker. I had their system and to be honest I didn't like it. First of all it's not stainless steel so it's going to fall apart. Also, I found it too quiet. It sounded stock at idle and not all that aggressive at WOT. Just my .02.

I had a hooker on my car. I completly disagree with terlox. I loved that sound. It wasn't that loud. Which in my opinion was good, but at WOT it was so much better than stock it was sick. The quad tips IMO looked spectacular and it sounded great in general. It was never asa obnoxious as a Cut-out, or raspy like a cat-less car. Best exhaust for the money.

Yeah i also have the hooker catback and i like it a lot. It is pretty quite at idle but at WOT it sounds very nice. Also it sounds really good just cruising around. I have heard the Magnaflow exhaust on another guys car and it is pretty nice but it popped a bit more then i would of liked. The guy said he liked the way the Hooker sounded better then his. They are great systems though. If you want a very loud exhaust then get the Loudmouth or a cutout. But the loudmouth is a little on the raspy side for my taste. To me it would drive me crazy with drone on the freeway.

If you are willing to spend 450 then I would highly recommend going with an ATR catback exhaust.

I have a Hooker on my '96 and I like the sound as well. It's not offensively loud but it's got a really nice throaty rumble to it. At high RPM's it sounds pretty mean. If you're looking for something that's gonna set off car alarms then go elsewhere but the Hooker is very liveable and nice.

I love my hooker with my longtubes and o/r y-pipe, I couldn't be happier with it. It screams in the upper RPM band.

I have the Borla catback exaust system and I love it! But thats definitly not going to be in your price range, if I were you I would probably go with SLP Loudmouth or Magnaflow. The Hooker just isn't very loud at all. I like that loud, deep rumble sound though. It really depends all on your taste. Anything stainless steal is going to be your best bet though.

if you are going to go with headers in the future or ditch the cats....get the magnaflow system....

if you are keeping stock manifolds and cats....get the Loudmouth...you'll sh*t the first time you start it up after installin it...
