Thumbs up Best Customer Service Expierence, Ever!

Wow, I spent a good hour or two on the phone with Dave at Combination Motorsports trying to decide on a clutch (Stage 3, 4 or Mcloud street twin), trying to think of something for exhuast, brake upgrades and discussing suspesion options.

Not cool enough? Hows this!
I get off the phone with him and he calls me back an hour later. He called Spec, found a guy that has a built LT1 F-body and autocrosses. Then he called me back with telling me the guy said he didn't like his stage 4 and got a stage 3. The stage 3 works really well for autocross apparently. He gave me all the prices, all the options and prices for the options. I was FLOORED.

In the end, I went with a Stage III "package" (with their new 6 puck design), a steel flywheel over an aluminum one, Jet hot long tubes and opted against their Y pipe. Going to go with KYB adjustable shocks, eibac (sp?) prokit and some other goodies over the winter (no time to install this stuff now)

Im still undecided on brakes though.

Anyway, I was pretty floored they went to that extra mile to help me make a decision

That's awesome. That's how it's supposed to be.
Guys, remember this next time you go to order parts from someone that can save you $15 on something.

the great part is, they are pretty damn cheap...

maybe one of these days I'll be smart enough to ask prices instead of just giving them a credit card. I just randomly get bills in the several thousand dollar range from them

...anyone know what a spec stg III clutch goes for?

If you are going to autocross the car then why not go with an aluminum flywheel? Less rotating mass = faster revs . Also I would have recommended against a Spec clutch. I have seen at least 3 of those clutches fall apart. I would had gone with a McLeod Street twin.

because aluminum would be a pain in the *** to drive daily and its axtra $150 or something, i'll use that on suspneion

Glad to hear you had great service...what mods do you have to even justify thinking about a street twin?

If its just a bolt on car the street twin is way overkill in my opinion...not that it would be a great clutch cause it would...but I think you made the right choice in not going with it. Switching out just a clutch/flywheel is much better then the work entailed by putting in a street twin.

Out of curiousity just how freaky is this factory motor? I see a lot of people throwing that term around when i don't think it's justified

and yes, CM is awesome no surprise there.

What kind of work is entailed to put in a Street twin? Also why buy 3 Star clutches when you can buy 1 Street Twin that will last you a long time? You forgot to realize that we are talking about Trey here and I am sure he is going to spray it Agostino style (300 shot)

From what I was told by guys on this board you have to switch out the slave cylinder as well as the hydralic lines in order to give the pressure plate proper clamping power.
